Hadi Khanjanpour (* May 1982 in Tehran ) is a German - Iranian actor , director and author .

Life

Khanjanpour was born in Tehran / Iran . When he was almost five years old, he and his family fled to Germany because of the Iran-Iraq war . He lived about 20 years in Offenbach am Main , where he attended the Rudolf-Koch-Schule his Abitur made and its community service ableistete. During his sports informatics studies , he happened to come across a theater casting. He was cast for the leading role in the play "Ehrensache" by Lutz Huebner under the direction of Alexander Brill. With the play he won the young talent award in 2009 for the best performance at the Hessian Theater Days in Marburg and in 2010 the “Günther Rühle Prize” for the best performance at the “Week of Young Actors” in Bensheim. From 2008 he played a number of plays at the Frankfurt Theater and the theater group "Theaterperipherie", including " Die Kleinbürgerhochzeit ."

In 2009 he applied to the drama school in Ludwigsburg and was accepted. He began his acting training at the age of 27 under the direction of Luk Perceval . Even during his studies he played in theaters and was on guest performances. With the study project “The Hour of Truth”, which he wrote himself and plays as a monologue, he was invited to some theaters, schools, festivals and institutions, including 2013 as the only independent production at the Duisburg Theatertreffen, Giessen prison . With this piece he won u. a. In 2011 the audience award at the 5th Iranian Theater Festival in Heidelberg and the 2nd audience award at the Young Actors Week in Bensheim.

In 2013 he finished his studies at the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg .

Act

As a film actor

While still studying acting, he starred in several short films at the Ludwigsburg Film Academy , including the graduation film "Porn Punk Poetry" by Maurice Hübner. Among other things, the film won the prize for best medium-length film at the 18th Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award . In 2013 he had his first TV appearance in " A strong team - The woman in a red dress " directed by Thorsten Näter . This was followed by other roles on television and in short films, among others, directed by Kai Wessel and Niki Stein von Kamienski . In 2012 he had his first small film role in the German-Turkish cinema production “Labirent” a. a. with Numan Acar , Meltem Cumbul , directed by Tolga Örnek.

His first crime scene role he assumed in 2016 in NDR Tatort "Evil floor" under the direction of Sabine Bernardi . He also plays Omar in the 1055th crime scene episode "I kill nobody" by the Franconian investigative duo Voss and Ringelhahn .

In the international series production " Bad Banks " by ZDF and Arte, directed by Christian Schwochow , he took on the role of accountant Mohamed / Momo in 2018, and is also part of the second season (director: Christian Zübert ), which will premiere in spring 2020 would have.

In the movie The Cat defective by Susan Gordanshekan he plays his first leading role opposite Pegah Ferydoni . The film premiered at the 68th Berlinale in 2018 and took part in the competition in the “ Perspektive Deutsches Kino ” section . In the film, Khanjanpour plays Kian, a doctor who grew up in Germany and who traditionally marries an Iranian woman. The story is about the attempt to lead a life together in Germany.

In the cinema production " Zoros Solo " by Martin Busker , he plays Zoro's father "Zamir". The film premiered on June 15, 2019 at the Emden-Norderney International Film Festival , where it won the main prize of the festival, the Bernhard Wicki Prize in gold, and the NDR Young Talent Prize. At the Bavarian Film Prize 2019, the authors Fabian Hebestreit and Martin Busker were honored for the best screenplay on January 17, 2020.

As a director and writer

After completing his studies, he began writing and staging plays alongside his work as an actor. His pieces have received invitations to guest performances and festivals. With his first play "KameLions" he won the 2015 jury award of the Hessische Theatertage in Wiesbaden. In the 2014/15 season he was alongside Ute Bansemir in the management team of the “Theaterperipherie” group in Frankfurt, where he has been a director, author, theater educator and actor ever since.

In 2015 Khanjanpour took over his first film directing work for the serial pilot “Dr. Ilegal ”, which was produced by UFA Fiction and the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . The film celebrated festival successes around the world, including Khanjanpour winning the European Civis Media Prize 2015 in Brussels, and in 2016 the “Best Director Award” for best director at the International Jaipur Festival in India. The TV broadcast was on Arte in Kurzschluss magazine . The film received the rating “Valuable” from the “ German Film and Media Assessment FWB ”.

In 2015, Khanjanpour received script funding from the “ Hessian Ministry for Science and Art ” and from the “ Hessian Broadcasting Film Funding ” for his film project “A New Piece of the Past ”.

At the Düsseldorf Film Festival 2018 he was a jury member of the international film festival alongside Hape Kerkeling , Wieland Speck , Judith Keilbach and Friedrike Hansen.
