Jörn Klamroth

Jörn Klamroth (born July 22, 1944 in Halberstadt ; † March 19, 2011 ) was a German television producer.

Life

Klamroth came to WDR in 1980 as deputy head of entertainment . There he was television director from 1992. At WDR he was responsible for series such as Die Knapp-Familie and Kir Royal as well as for entertainment shows with Rudi Carrell , Jürgen von der Lippe and Michael Schanze . In 2002 he moved to the ARD production company Degeto as managing director . During this time, with the support of Degeto, films such as Buddenbrooks , Mein Leben - Marcel Reich-Ranicki , Kirschblüten - Hanami , Der Untergang , Der Baader-Meinhof-Complex were madeand The Popess . He was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Bavaria Film for many years .

He was responsible for producing several award-winning television plays. For the production of the fourth and fifth parts of The Knapp Family , he received the Adolf Grimme Prize with silver in 1983 (together with Stephan Meyer and Maria Neocleous ). For Kir Royal he received the Adolf Grimme Prize with gold in 1988 (together with Helmut Dietl ). Most recently, Jörn Klamroth received the German TV Award in October 2010 as the producer of the ARD multi-part series Im Visicht des Verbrechens .
