Rosalie's mother, the widowed councilor Madame Scheuflein, sees her daughter's future in her marriage to a wealthy assessor. Before that happens, however, you and Aunt Agathe go to the country for a summer break. The farmers need their money, but they are not exactly enthusiastic about the spoiled and sometimes arrogant city dwellers.

But Franz, the future heir of the court, likes Rosalie's carefree and helpful manner and they both fall in love. Father Schiermoser gives his blessing, Rosalie's mother is beside herself - city and country life collide.

The lexicon of international films judged that Madame Bäurin was "a home film that is only superficially interested in its characters and has solid performance" and "nothing more than relaxing entertainment."
