action
Haulage driver Max wants to start a family with his pregnant girlfriend. But now, of all times, he is being dismissed because of a triviality. He hires the ambitious lawyer Florian Faber and takes the dismissal to court. The termination looks like a routine case. There it is known that he cheated on his heavily pregnant girlfriend Anna with the witness of all things. As a result, Faber's defense collapses like a house of cards.
Now Max not only loses his job, his girlfriend Anna also dumps him. After learning about her boyfriend's betrayal in court, she doesn't want anything to do with him and disappears. Anna has found shelter with ex-colleague Florian Faber's Peter Braun and his wife Katharina, who has long wanted a child and has since given up hope. Katharina offers Anna to live with her after the delivery and to raise the child together.
The socially committed lawyer and the critical journalist Sarah Pohl have become a couple after some initial animosity, but there can be no talk of peace, joy, pancakes with them. Sarah wonders how Max's boss knew about the affair. Sarah suspects that Max's seedy boss Penkalla has his employees secretly monitored by a detective agency. Under the pretext of wanting to give the detective agency an order for surveillance measures, she asks how one intends to proceed with the determination of the data for her alleged client. The detective did not want to inform her of this for the purpose of self-protection until she had placed the order and paid an advance in cash. After she has paid a partial amount of the required advance payment, the detective reveals to her, based on the surveillance of his own office, how he can monitor the premises of his clients with invisible cameras and microphones. Meanwhile, Faber receives an emergency call from Anna. Suddenly, she no longer feels really comfortable with the wealthy wife of his ex-colleague who took her in. She obviously means a little too well with her. Faber takes them out with Max. In the meantime, lawyer Faber, with the support of his ex-colleague Braun, organized the search of the logistics company Penkallas. The police find the surveillance technology and secure it against the will of the detective.
In the meantime Anna has given birth. When Max wanted to visit her, the baby suddenly disappeared. Anna and the lawyer are sure where to find the baby and bring it back. Faber and his partner realize that they were involved in an explosive form of crime: the greedy fleet operator wants to replace his employees with cheap, foreign temporary workers . In order to find a reason for termination, he had his employees secretly monitored without permission.
