Herbert G. Kloiber (born December 6, 1947 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film rights dealer and former owner of the Munich-based companies Tele München Gruppe and Tele 5 . Until the sale to Vue Entertainment , Kloiber held 84.58% of the shares in the cinema chain CinemaxX AG .

Life

Kloiber is the son of a Viennese industrialist and holds a doctorate in law .

From 1970 to 1976 Kloiber was responsible for film purchases at Beta Film / Taurus Film of the Munich film rights dealer Leo Kirch . In 1977 he and Fritz Buttenstedt bought Tele München GmbH.

He is the recipient of the "Directorate Award" for many years of successful engagement in the media business at the 32nd international Emmy Award 2004.

The station ATV announced in a broadcast in 2008: “The sale of BAWAG PSK's share package in the Austrian private broadcaster ATV to the main shareholder Herbert Kloiber has been finalized. Kloiber now holds 99.67 percent of ATV. ”As an honorary professor at the University of Television and Film Munich , he heads the Production and Media Management department .

In order to take over the cinema chain Cinemaxx by the British company Vue Entertainment , Herbert Kloiber sold his almost 85% stake in the Hamburg-based company in 2012.
