Unter Wölfen is a 90-minute feature film from the German television series Hubert and Staller from 2016.
action
Due to the highest clearing-up rate in Bavaria , the whole area is invited to Munich and honored by Police President Kröpf.
However, Hubert and Staller do not get to the award in time because Staller got lost. On the way to the police headquarters, they pass a house where Anna Schmitt tries to take her own life. This is the partner of Police Vice President Markus Wieser. Meanwhile, the police chief tries to win the Wolfratshauser Revier in the fight against the drug scene in Munich. The Wolfratshauser are supposed to help Kröpf find the black sheep he suspects in the ranks of the police.
In order to clarify further details, the police chief Kröpf invited Girwidz to breakfast, but Girwidz found the police chief dead. Even if Hubert, Staller and the detective superintendents Kurz and Eder from Munich cannot agree who will take over the investigation, they agree that the murderer must be a burglar. Girwidz suspects, however, that the black sheep was the murderer and tells Hubert and Staller about Kröpf's suspicions.
Then Dr. Light a sachet of drugs in Kröpf's clothes and everyone assumes a murderer from the drug scene, who had declared war on Kröpf. Hubert and Staller do not tell their Munich colleagues about the find and try to investigate Stefan Wilde's club, who, according to Kröpf, is supposed to sell drugs. However, the new police chief Wieser is also under suspicion ...

The film premiered on January 21, 2016 on Das Erste . Unter Wölfen were integrated into the series in two parts on July 20 and 27, 2016 as episodes 5x17 and 5x18.
The audience rating was 4.03 million. This corresponds to a market share of 12.3%.
criticism
Unter Wölfen was praised as an “entertaining crime comedy” that “[z] um Glück” does not even try to “tell a serious crime story”. There is no tension, but it is also a "minor matter". Instead, the film is "quirky and fun", the pace is right, as is the dialogues. It is "full of absurd situations", a "successful [...] mixture of pun and slapstick". The story is "quite unusual for the framework of the series", "even holds back when it comes to slapstick" and is well told and implemented. "The little gags that reveal the script's love of detail and are pleasantly casually staged" are also praised. The result is a "relaxed Bavarian antics parade"
Among wolves , however, there was a risk of becoming a “sketch parade” due to the lack of further development of the characters or “becoming a bare caricature” because of the ancient equipment.
Christian Tramitz and Helmfried von Lüttichau “fit perfectly”, are “with body and soul” and even the “decisive reason to join”, also because they “deliver their punchlines as dry as dust and deadly serious.” The secondary characters with “bizarre wit” are Robert Stadlober and Adam Bousdoukos , but especially well cast with Paul Sedlmeir .
