Aenne Biermann Prize
The Aenne Biermann Prize for German Contemporary Photography, named after the German photographer Aenne Biermann , is an important German award for photography .
history
The city of Gera has awarded the prize every two years since 1992 . It is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of contemporary young photography in Germany and is endowed with 2000 euros (1st prize), 1500 euros (2nd prize) and 1000 euros (3rd prize). There are also recognitions of 500 euros each. The winners are also guaranteed participation in the corresponding exhibition in the Museum of Applied Arts in Gera.
The jury consists of a representative of the Museum für Angewandte Kunst Gera , a representative of Art Regio , the 1st prize winner of the previous competition and two renowned photo theorists (e.g. art historians, photojournalists, curators).
All photographers, photographers and photo designers from Germany can take part.
