David Octavius ​​Hill Medal

The David Octavius ​​Hill Medal , named after the Scottish photography pioneer of the 19th century David Octavius ​​Hill , is awarded by the German Photographic Academy approximately every three years. It is also the art prize of the city of Leinfelden-Echterdingen .

Awarding

Between 1966 and 1986, the GDL awarded the “David Octavius ​​Hill Medal” twenty times to personalities in photography for outstanding artistic or scientific achievements.

Since 1988 this award has been given as an art prize by the city of Leinfelden-Echterdingen under the auspices of the Photographic Academy GDL and given a sum of money.

Prize money

The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros.
