David Octavius Hill Medal
The David Octavius Hill Medal , named after the Scottish photography pioneer of the 19th century David Octavius Hill , is awarded by the German Photographic Academy approximately every three years. It is also the art prize of the city of Leinfelden-Echterdingen .
Awarding
Between 1966 and 1986, the GDL awarded the “David Octavius Hill Medal” twenty times to personalities in photography for outstanding artistic or scientific achievements.
Since 1988 this award has been given as an art prize by the city of Leinfelden-Echterdingen under the auspices of the Photographic Academy GDL and given a sum of money.
Prize money
The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros.
