Cia Rinne (* 1973 in Gothenburg ) is a Finnish-Swedish author and artist.

Life

Cia Rinne grew up in Germany. She studied philosophy , history and languages ​​in Frankfurt, Athens and Helsinki. In Helsinki she completed her studies in philosophy with a Master of Arts . In her artistic work, she is primarily concerned with visual and conceptual poetry, but also with sounds, performance and installations. Cia Rinne's work is influenced by Fluxus artists such as Tomas Schmit and Arthur Køpcke , as well as by the Moscow conceptualists Lev Rubinstein and Ilja Kabakow . Musically she succeeds Steve Reich and John Cage . Her text and sound works have been exhibited many times, including as part of the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York and in the Grimmuseum in Berlin. Her installation the letter i see was awarded by the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn as part of the sixteenth Tallinn Print Triennial. In Germany, Cia Rinne was best known for her documentary book Die Romareisen , which she published together with the photographer Joakim Eskildsen . Works by her are in the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn, in the Artist Book Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the Artist Book Collection of Rikhardin kirjasto in Helsinki .
