Pierre Doukan
Pierre Doukan (born October 11, 1927 in Paris , † October 12, 1995 in Suresnes ) was a French violinist , composer and music teacher .
Life
Pierre Doukan studied at the Conservatory of Toulouse a. a. with Hélène Fleury-Roy . In 1955 he was one of the winners of the Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition in Brussels and in 1957 he received 2nd prize at the Paganini Competition in Genoa. From 1959 to 1972 he was concertmaster with the Paris Opera Orchestra . Since 1969 he has led a violin class at the Paris Conservatory .
Doukan composed numerous violin works and published a multi-volume violin school. He was married to the pianist Thérèse Cochet, with whom he often gave concerts and made recordings.
