Hans Kann
Johann "Hans" Kann (born February 14, 1927 in Vienna ; † June 24, 2005 there ) was an Austrian pianist and composer .
From 1946 he went on concert tours around the world. He studied piano with Otto Schulhof , among others . Kann was a teacher at the Vienna State Academy , the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music , the Musashino Music University, the University of Arts Ueno in Tokyo and the Darmstadt City Academy . From 1977 to 1995 he was a professor at the Musikhochschule in Vienna.
In the 1970s, Kann occasionally represented the pianist on the ORF Sunday morning show What's new? with Heinz Conrads. In 1987 he introduced the midday concerts in the Wiener Konzerthaus .
His grave is in the Vienna Central Cemetery (Gr. 33G, No. 35). In 2011 the Kannweg in Vienna- Floridsdorf (21st district) was named after him.
