Hubert Aumüller

Hubert Aumüller (born October 26, 1927 ) is a former mayor of Villmar . The SPD politician has received several awards for his services in this office, which he held for an exceptionally long time .

Life

Hubert Aumüller completed an administration apprenticeship in Villmar town hall from 1942 and was then an administrative clerk there, most recently as a community secretary. On November 1, 1945 he became a member of the SPD. On June 18, 1952, Aumüller was elected mayor of the town. After the regional reform in Hesse , in the course of which five previously independent towns merged to form the municipality of Villmar, he was also elected mayor of this new large municipality. After 36 years in office, he retired on June 30, 1988. Hubert Aumüller was the youngest mayor of the State of Hesse when he took up his post and when he retired he was the oldest mayor of the State of Hesse. His election as mayor on May 31, 1952 was subsequently declared invalid because at the time of the election he had not yet reached the minimum age of 25 years required in Hesse at that time.
