Albin Sättler

Albin Sättler (born August 15, 1927 in Lauterbach , Czechoslovakia , † 1998 in Munich ) was a German artist .

Sättler first completed an apprenticeship as a lace and embroidery draftsman. In 1945 he became a soldier and was taken prisoner of war . From 1947 he lived in Darmstadt . He then studied painting with Paul Thesing at the Darmstädter Werkkunstschule and 1950–1954 at the Munich Academy with Franz Nagel . In 1954 he returned to Darmstadt and from 1957 had contact with Eberhard Schlotter in Spain .

Since 1976 he lived in Munich. Sättler was a member of the New Darmstadt Secession and the New Munich Artists' Cooperative .
