Ermes Muccinelli (born July 28, 1927 in Lugo ( RA ), Italy , † November 4, 1994 in Savona , Italy) was an Italian football player .
Muccinelli, known as " Mucci ", is one of the most legendary right wingers in the history of Juventus Turin .
Career
In the club
Ermes Muccinelli began his professional career at Juventus Turin , for which he made his Serie A debut on November 24, 1946, in a 4-0 win against US Triestina . At Juve he played until 1955 and again in the 1958/59 season, after which he ended his career. From 1955 to 1958 he was under contract with Lazio Rome .
For Juventus, Muccinelli completed a total of 244 games, scoring 61 goals and celebrating two Italian championships and a Coppa Italia . He had his most successful season in 1951/52, when he contributed 17 goals to the title win by Juventus and together with his strike partners Giampiero Boniperti and John Hansen Juventus led to 98 goals this season in 38 games. He played 93 times for Lazio Rome and scored 20 goals.
In the national team
In the Italian national team , Ermes Muccinelli made his debut on March 5, 1950 in the 3-1 victory of the Italians against Belgium , in which he scored two goals straight away. In the following period he participated with Italy in the 1950 World Cup in Brazil and the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland . His last international match for the Squadra Azzurra was played by Muccinelli on April 25, 1957 in a 1-0 win against Northern Ireland . In total, he played 15 times for the Azzurri and scored four goals.
