Eero Erkko (born May 18, 1860 in Orimattila , † October 14, 1927 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish journalist and politician.

The brother of the writers Elias (Ruuto) Erkko and Juhana Heikki Erkko studied until 1880. From 1885 to 1887 he was editor of the magazine Keski-Suomi in Jyväskylä. In 1889 he founded the magazine Päivälehti , of which he was editor-in-chief until 1902. From 1903 to 1905 he lived in exile in the USA, where he worked as a printer and bookseller and published the magazine Amerika Kaiko .

After his return he worked again for the newspaper he founded, which has since appeared under the title Helsingin Sanomat . From 1907 to 1919 he was a member of the Reichstag , first as a member of the Young Finnish Party , last year as a member of the National Progressive Party . He belonged u. a. the Main Committee, the Constitutional Committee, and the Foreign and Military Affairs Committees. Between 1918 and 1920 he was Minister of Social Affairs (in the Lauri Ingman cabinet ), Minister of Transport (in the Kaarlo Castrén cabinet ) and Minister of the Economy (in the Juho Vennola cabinet ).
