Abune Antonios ( Ethiopian ኣቡነ እንጦንዮስ, born July 12, 1927 in Hemberti ) was locum tenens from December 1, 2003 to 2004 and from April 25, 2004 to February 2006, the third patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church .

After he had spoken out against the interference of the Eritrean regime in church affairs, he was unlawfully dethroned by the regime and replaced by the uncritical or regime-loyal Abune Dioskorus . His health was rated worrying in 2012. The Eritrean regime does not disclose any information about its current state.

Abune Antonio's arrest on May 27, 2007 was announced by Amnesty International in a June 2007 Urgent Action .

On Sunday, July 16, 2017, the Eritrean government let him take part in a liturgy, but forbade him to address the people. After the service he was again taken to an unknown location. Radio Franc International reported about it.
