Willem Scholten
Willem Scholten (born June 1, 1927 in Deventer , † January 1, 2005 in Leidschendam ) was a Dutch politician .
Life
Willem Scholten studied in Rotterdam from 1945 to 1950. He became a member of the CHU and later the CDA . He held leading positions in the Ministry of Finance and was also a member of the European Parliament at times . On July 1, 1997, he was appointed Minister of State. From July 1997 to December 1999 Scholten was president of the advisory commission "financiële tegoeden WO-II" in the Netherlands. The final report of this commission was published on December 15, 1999.
Scholten died at the age of 77.
