Ernst Moser (writer)

Ernst Moser (born January 9, 1863 in Königsberg i. Pr .; † June 11, 1927 ibid) was a German writer , journalist and publisher , but his main occupation was a bookseller .

Life

After studying at the Albertus University in Königsberg , he turned to journalism at an early age and published a newspaper for a year. In order to secure financial security, he learned the trade of bookseller and set up his own shop in early 1890. Moser wrote a standard work on the history of theater in his hometown. In addition, he published several small dramas, novels, plays, episodic novels and humorous books as well as five detective novels between 1904 and 1908, of which, however, only the most well-known, A Criminal Genius, was reprinted in 1910. In addition, the theater and music newspaper appeared in Königsberg under his editorial office between October 1, 1904 and 1907 .

Moser was fully integrated into the Prussian and all-German cultural scene. He maintained correspondence and correspondence with numerous well-known writers, artists, politicians, intellectuals and other high-ranking personalities of his time. Remarks

  1. The information about his studies at the Albertus University in Königsberg vary. While Brümmer states it explicitly, Moser is not mentioned in the official records of students at the Albertina for the years 1880 to 1889. So it may well be that - at least in Königsberg - he did not start a proper degree.
