Franz Evers
Franz Evers (born July 10, 1871 in Winsen an der Luhe , † September 14, 1947 in Niemberg ) was initially a bookseller and since 1889 publisher of the monthly " Litterarian Blätter ", in which Julius Vanselow also published (unconfirmed).
In 1892 Franz Evers published the anthology "Symphonie" together with Carl Busse , GE Geilfus (= Georg Edward ), Victor Hardung and Julius Vanselow (1868-1892). He met the theosophist Wilhelm Huebbe-Schleiden . He then worked as editor of the theosophical magazine " Sphinx " and from 1894 was a freelance writer. He shared a studio with Fidus that illustrated his “High Songs”.
He succeeded in placing some poems in the volumes of the years 1893/1894 in the magazine Sphinx, both by Julius and Carl Vanselow , which had hardly published any poems before or after. (Source). Possibly also from other members of his environment. There are three poems and a short story by Evers in volume 15 and three poems in volume 16. In volume 17 (1893) there are four prose texts and three poems. This volume also contains plenty of "art supplements" by Fidus and Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach , but these became increasingly sparse. He translated Paul Verlaine .
