Herwig Blankertz

Herwig Blankertz (born September 22, 1927 in Lüdenscheid ; † August 26, 1983 in Münster ) was a German educator .

Life

After his return from the Second World War , Herwig Blankertz initially worked as a construction worker and later in the textile industry. In 1949 he graduated from the textile engineering school , in 1955 he passed the state examination to become a trade teacher specializing in textiles and leather at the Pedagogical College for trade teachers in Wilhelmshaven .

After being on the second chance the High School had acquired, studied Blankertz philosophy, education and history at the University of Göttingen , where he in 1958 when Erich Less Dr. phil. PhD ; in Göttingen he already got to know Wolfgang Klafki , Theodor Schulze , Wolfgang Kramp and Klaus Mollenhauer as fellow students . He then worked from 1959 to 1963 as a lecturer in vocational education at the Pedagogical Institute of the University of Hamburg . After completing his habilitation in general education in 1962 at the Mannheim Business School , Blankertz became professor of philosophy at the University of Education in Oldenburg , then full professor of business education at the Free University of Berlin (1964–1969). From 1969 he held a chair for education and philosophy at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Since 1972 he has been in charge of scientific support at the college level in North Rhine-Westphalia . His most famous students include Hilbert Meyer , Andreas Gruschka , Dieter Lenzen , Frankhabenhagen and Adolf Kell .

Blankertz died in 1983 as a result of a traffic accident.
