Ernst-Heinz Amberg

Ernst-Heinz Amberg (born June 11, 1927 in Kayna ) is a German Lutheran theologian .

Life

Ernst-Heinz Amberg was taken prisoner by the Americans in 1945. After his release, he worked as a farm worker and made up his Abitur , finally studying Protestant theology at the University of Leipzig from 1946 . Then, in 1951/1952, he worked there as an assistant. In 1956 he became a Doctor Protestant theology doctorate , habilitation he did four years later, so that it in 1961 as a lecturer was set systematic theology. Four years later he was promoted to professor . He served as dean of the theological faculty from 1967 to 1969, and in 1968, as a member of the Senate, he campaigned against the demolition of the university church in St. Pauli. He became a full professor of theology in 1969 and a year later he became a synodal in the regional church of Saxony , which he remained until 1990. At the same time they sat Amberg in 1983 as the second university preacher one, 1985 as canons to Wurzen and in 1991 he was appointed Professor of Theology new law , however, appointed the university left the following year. Amberg was promoted to the cathedral propst in Wurzen in 1999 and held the office for six years. Also in 1999 he was awarded the Caspar Borner Medal .

From 1958 Amberg worked as editor of the Theologische Literaturzeitung , was promoted to editor-in-chief in 1971 and was also co-editor of the newspaper from 1983 to 1995. He is married and has one child.
