Moritz Voigt
Moritz Voigt (born September 10, 1826 in Leipzig ; † November 6, 1905 there ) was a German lawyer .
Life
Voigt studied at the Thomas School in Leipzig until 1845 . From 1845 to 1852 he studied law at the University of Leipzig , where he was a member of the Corps Saxonia . In 1852 he received his doctorate with the dissertation De fetialibus populi Romani quaestionis specimen for Dr. jur. In 1853 he completed his habilitation on the subject of De caussa hereditaria inter Claudios Patricios et Marcellos acta, quam commemorat Cic. de orat. I, 39 .
In 1853 Voigt settled in Leipzig as a lawyer and notary. From 1853 to 1862 he was a private lecturer in Roman law , from 1862 to 1876 associate professor and from 1876 to 1894 full honorary professor in Leipzig. He was also a member of the Royal Saxon Society of Sciences in Leipzig .
Voigt was a Knight of the Order of Albrecht and the Order of Civil Merit of Saxony.
