Albrecht Peters

Albrecht Peters (born March 31, 1924 in Hamburg , † October 26, 1987 in Heidelberg ) was a German Lutheran theologian and university professor.

Life

Peters studied German, philosophy and theology in Freiburg im Breisgau , Hamburg and Heidelberg from 1944 . From 1952 to 1956 he worked as a vicar and pastor in Hamburg, a. a. in the independent confessional church of St. Anschar in Hamburg , and from 1956 worked as an assistant and lecturer at the University of Heidelberg. He received his doctorate in 1957 and completed his habilitation in 1959. From 1965 to 1987 he was Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Heidelberg .

His research focus was the theology of Martin Luther . He was strongly committed to the Michael Brotherhood .
