Heinrich "Heini" Walter (born July 28, 1927 in Alpthal ; † May 12, 2009 ) was a Swiss racing driver .
Career
Heini Walter was an amateur racing driver who drove mountain and circuit races in a Porsche RSK in the late 1950s . Occasionally, he also competed with an MBM racing car for the Swiss Écurie HOBA team. In 1961 Walter was European mountain champion .
Walter had his only appearance in an automobile world championship - Monoposto at the German Grand Prix in 1962 , driving a Porsche 718 from the Swiss Scuderia Filipinetti . At the finish, Walter was one lap behind the winner Graham Hill on BRM and finished 14th.
Walter continued to drive hill climbs until the mid-1960s, including a Ferrari 250LM and various types of Porsche.
