Sports car world championship 1960
The 1960 World Sports Car Championship was the eighth season of this championship. It began on January 31st and ended on June 26th, 1960.

After the Aston Martin works team withdrew after winning the world championship title in 1959 , the Porsche team developed into a major challenger to Scuderia Ferrari in 1960 . At the end of the season, both Porsche and Ferrari had won two races of the season and, after deducting the deleted results, each achieved 22 championship points. Ferrari won the title because the Italian brand had achieved a third place more.
Ferrari won the 1000 km race in Buenos Aires and the 24 hour race at Le Mans . Porsche triumphed in the Sebring 12 hour race and the Targa Florio . Camoradi Racing won the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring for Maserati .
