Sports car world championship 1970
The 1970 World Sports Car Championship was the 18th season of this championship. It began on February 1 and ended on October 11, 1970.

The 1970 sports car world championship ended with an overwhelming success for Porsche . Vehicles from the German sports car manufacturer won nine of the ten competition races. A Ferrari only won the Sebring 12-hour race . The most successful team of the year was John Wyer's racing team , which carried out the Porsche works outings in 1970. Porsche racing cars have competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race every year since 1951 . In 1970 , with the success of Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood, there was the first overall victory in this 24-hour race .
