Surprisingly strong were plant - Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 , which by Autodelta were used. Andrea de Adamich and Henri Pescarolo finished second in the overall standings. After Pedro Rodríguez retired after only four laps due to valve damage, the race was relieved of tension early on. When Jacky Ickx, who was now in the lead, rolled out after 53 laps with damage to the electrical system, the second Wyer-Porsche no longer had a serious opponent.
