Jean-Marie Jacquemin
Jean-Marie Jacquemin (born August 6, 1942 ) is a Belgian entrepreneur and former rally and circuit racing driver .
Racing career
Jean-Marie Jacquemin has been active in rallying for almost four decades since 1966. In addition, he repeatedly competed in selected circuit races. He celebrated his first overall success in a rally in a Renault 8 Gordini at the 12-hour race in Huy in 1967 . He drove for many years in the Belgian rally championship , the overall ranking of which he won in 1968. He started in the European rally championship and was thirteenth in a Chrysler Sunbeam in the Tour de Corse in 1978 (winners Bernard Darniche and Alain Mahé in a Fiat 131 Mirafiori Abarth ).
On the racetrack, his greatest success was second place behind Herbert Müller in the one-hour race in Nivelles in 1972 , a race of the European GT championship of that year. Both drove a De Tomaso Pantera . In 1971 he was fifth overall in the Tour de France for automobiles . He competed twice in the Le Mans 24-hour race . After a failure in 1971 he finished the race in 1972 on the side of Yves Deprez in the De Tomaso Pantera in 16th place overall.
Entrepreneur
In 1981 Jean-Marie Jacquemin founded the vehicle tuning company Jacquemin Tuning in the French municipality of Sainghin-en-Mélantois . In 2016, the company hit the headlines after an employee embezzled 1,500,000 euros between 2006 and 2016. In 2018 the man was sentenced to repayment of the sum and sentenced to several years in prison.
