Sainghin-en-Mélantois ( Flemish : Singem ) is a French municipality with 2,760 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and the canton of Templeuve (until 2015: canton of Cysoing ). The inhabitants are called Sainghinois .
geography
Sainghin-en-Mélantois is about nine kilometers southeast of the city center of Lille . The river Marque limits the municipality to the east. Sainghin-en-Mélantois is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Villeneuve-d'Ascq in the north, Anstaing and Gruson in the northeast, Bouvines in the east and southeast, Cysoing in the southeast, Péronne-en-Mélantois in the south, Fretin in the southwest, Lesquin in the west as well Lezennes in the northwest.
In the municipality there is the motorway triangle of the Autoroute A23 with the Autoroute A27 .
