Ronchin is a French municipality with 19,220 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France near the border with Belgium around Lille . The inhabitants call themselves Bruants or Ronchinois .

Ronchin is surrounded by Lille in the north-west, Hellemmes-Lille in the north, Lezennes in the north-east, Lesquin in the south-east and south, and Faches-Thumesnil in the south-west.
Transport links
The motorway triangle of the Autoroute A1 with the Autoroute A25 and the Autoroute A27 is located in the municipality . Ronchin station is served by trains on the Paris – Lille line.
history
A village known as Rumcinium has been passed down since the 9th century . It was initially a fiefdom of Marchiennes Abbey. In 1663 the place was ravaged by the plague.
