Bachy is a French commune with 1,702 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and the canton of Templeuve (until 2015: canton of Cysoing ). The inhabitants are called bachynois .

geography

Bachy is about 16 kilometers southeast of the city center of Lille on the border with Belgium . Bachy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Wannehain in the north, Tournai (Belgium) in the northeast, Rumes (Belgium) in the east, Mouchin in the south, Cobrieux in the west and southwest and Bourghelles in the west and northwest.
