Joseph Leo Seko Abbey
Joseph Leo Seko Abbey (born August 15, 1940 in Sekondi-Takoradi ) is a former Ghanaian diplomat .
Career
- His family came from Anomabu .
- He attended Mfantsipim Senior High School , the Catholic University College of Ghana , studied at the London School of Economics , at the Iowa State University , French Studies at the University of Bordeaux . He completed postgraduate studies at St Antony's College , Oxford , as well as a course in political science and diplomacy .
- In 1963 he received a diploma in administrative science and entered the foreign service.
- From 1966 to 1970 he was First Secretary of the Permanent Mission at UN Headquarters in New York City .
- From 1970 to 1974 he was director of the United Nations and international organizations in the foreign ministries.
- From 1975 to January 1979 he was chief of protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- From January to June 1979 he was Minister for Financial and Economic Planning in Ghana.
- From March 6, 1984 to September 30, 1986 he was High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Ottawa .
- From September 30, 1986 to December 17, 1990 he was High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in London .
- An Agrément was issued on October 18, 1990 , after which he was accredited as Ambassador from December 17, 1990 to August 11, 1994 in Washington, DC .
