Moncheaux is a French commune with 1,536 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and is part of the canton of Templeuve (until 2015: canton of Pont-à-Marcq ). The inhabitants are called Monchellois (also: Mingeux d'pourions ).

geography

Moncheaux is about 20 kilometers south of Lille and about 20 kilometers east of Lens . Moncheaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thumeries in the north and north-west, Mons-en-Pévèle in the north and north-east, Faumont in the east, Raimbeaucourt in the south and south-east and Leforest in the west and south-west.
