Faumont is about ten kilometers north-northeast of Douai . Faumont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bersée in the north, Coutiches in the east, Flines-lez-Raches in the south-east, Râches in the south, Raimbeaucourt in the south-west, Moncheaux in the west and Mons-en-Pévèle in the north-west.

Until 1830 the parish was part of the municipality of Coutiches.
