Saméon is a French commune with 1,672 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Douai and the Canton of Orchies . The inhabitants are called Saméonia (ne) s .

geography

Saméon is located around 21 kilometers northeast of Douai near the Belgian border. Saméon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aix-en-Pévèle in the north and north-west, Rumegies in the north-east, Lecelles in the east, Rosult in the south and south-east and Landas in the west.

Until 1830 the parish was part of the municipality of Coutiches.
