Férin is a French commune with 1,455 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Douai and the canton of Aniche (until 2015: canton of Douai-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Férinois .

geography

Férin is located about four kilometers south of Douai in the Ostrevent landscape on the canalized River Sensée . Férin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lambres-lez-Douai in the north, Sin-le-Noble in the north-east, Dechy in the east, Gœulzin in the south and south-east, Gouy-sous-Bellonne in the south and south-west, Corbehem in the west and Courchelettes in the north-west.
