Esquerchin is a northern French municipality with 891 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord , Region Nord-Pas-de-Calais and belongs to Arrondissement Douai and Canton Douai . The inhabitants are called Esquerchinois .
geography
Esquerchin is located on the Escrebieux river , around three kilometers west of Douai . Esquerchin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Noyelles-Godault in the north and north-west, Courcelles-lès-Lens and Auby in the north, Lauwin-Planque in the east and north-east, Cuincy in the south and south-east, Quiéry-la-Motte in the south-west and Hénin-Beaumont in the Northwest.
