Féchain is a French commune with 1,745 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Douai and the Canton of Aniche (until 2015: Canton Arleux ). The inhabitants are called Féchinois .
geography
Féchain is located about 25 kilometers southwest of Valenciennes and about 10 kilometers north of Cambrai on the Sensée River . Féchain is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Fressain in the north and northwest, Marcq-en-Ostrevent in the northeast, Wasnes-au-Bac in the east, Hem-Lenglet in the south and southeast, Fressies in the south and southwest and Aubigny-au-Bac in the west.
