Wasnes-au-Bac is about 16 kilometers southeast of Douai and about 21 kilometers southwest of Valenciennes . To the south are the salt marshes of the Sensée River . Wasnes-au-Bac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marcq-en-Ostrevent in the north and northwest, Marquette-en-Ostrevant in the north and northeast, Wavrechain-sous-Faulx in the east, Paillencourt in the south, Hem-Lenglet in the southwest and Féchain in the West.
