Paillencourt is a municipality with 991 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the canton of Cambrai (until 2015: canton of Cambrai-Ouest ) in the Arrondissement of Cambrai . It is bordered by Wasnes-au-Bac to the north, Wavrechain-sous-Faulx and Bouchain to the northeast, Estrun to the east, Thun-l'Évêque to the south, Bantigny to the southwest and Hem-Lenglet to the west . The Canal de la Sensée , a shipping canal, passes the municipality mark in the north. The residents call themselves Paillencourtois or Paillencourtoises .
