It belongs to the canton of Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015 canton Cambrai-Est ) in the Arrondissement of Cambrai . It borders in the north-west on Cambrai , in the north-east on Awoingt , in the south-east on Séranvillers-Forenville , in the south-west on Crèvecœur-sur-l'Escaut and in the west on Rumilly-en-Cambrésis .

The former Route nationale 360 leads via Niergnies. The Cambrai-Niergnies airfield is located in Niergnies .
