Bermerain ( Dutch Bermering ) is a French commune in the Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the canton of Caudry (until 2015 canton of Solesmes ) in the Arrondissement of Cambrai and is affected by the river Écaillon . It borders on Sepmeries to the north, Ruesnes to the east, Capelle to the south-east, Escarmain to the south, Saint-Martin-sur-Écaillon to the south-west and Vendegies-sur-Écaillon to the west . The inhabitants call themselves Bermerinois or Bermerinoises.
