Saint-Hilaire-lez-Cambrai is a French village with 1,602 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Cambrai and the canton of Caudry (until 2015: canton of Carnières ). The inhabitants are called Hilairiens .

Saint-Hilaire-lez-Cambrai is about twelve kilometers east of Cambrai . Saint-Hilaire-lez-Cambrai is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Aubert and Saint-Vaast-en-Cambrésis in the north, Viesly in the east and south-east, Quiévy in the south, Bévillers in the south-west, Boussières-en-Cambrésis in the west and south-west as well Avesnes-les-Aubert to the west and north-west.
