Saint-Hilaire-lez-Cambrai is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Aubert and Saint-Vaast-en-Cambrésis in the north, Viesly in the east and south-east, Quiévy in the south, Bévillers in the south-west, Boussières-en-Cambrésis in the west and south-west as well Avesnes-les-Aubert to the west and north-west.
