It belongs to the canton of Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015 canton Marcoing ) in the Arrondissement of Cambrai . It is bordered by Cantaing-sur-Escaut to the west and north-west , Proville to the north-east, Marcoing to the south-east and south and Flesquières to the south-west . The municipality marker is crossed by the Scheldt and Canal de Saint-Quentin . The residents call themselves Noyellois.
