Estrun ( Flemish : Stroom ) is a French municipality with 709 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Cambrai , the Communauté d'agglomération de Cambrai and the canton of Cambrai (until 2015: canton of Cambrai-Est ). The inhabitants are called Estrunois .
geography
Estrun is located about nine kilometers northeast of Cambrai on the canalized Scheldt , which forms the eastern municipal boundary. Neighboring communities are Bouchain in the north, Hordain in the northeast, Iwuy in the east, Thun-l'Évêque in the south and Paillencourt in the west.
Autoroute A2 leads through the municipality .
