Crèvecœur-sur-l'Escaut ( Dutch Crevecoor aan de Schelde ) is a French municipality with 744 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Cambrai and the canton Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015: Canton Marcoing ). The inhabitants of the place are called Crépicordien (ne) s .
geography
Crèvecœur is located in the valley of the Scheldt ( French l'Escaut ) 8.1 km south of Cambrai . Neighboring communities are Niergnies in the north, Séranvillers-Forenville in the north-east, Lesdain in the east, Esnes in the south-east, Aubencheul-aux-Bois in the south, Bantouzelle in the south-west, Les Rues-des-Vignes in the west and Rumilly-en-Cambrésis in the north-west.
