Cattenières is a French village with 670 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Cambrai and the canton Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015: canton Carnières ).

Cattenières is about eight kilometers east-southeast of Cambrai . Cattenières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Estourmel in the north and northwest, Carnières in the north and northeast, Fontaine-au-Pire in the east and southeast, Haucourt-en-Cambrésis in the south, Esnes in the southwest and Wambaix in the west.
