It belongs to the canton of Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015 the former canton of Le Cateau -Cambrésis ) in the Arrondissement of Cambrai . It borders in the north-west on Maurois , in the north on Reumont , in the north-east on Le Cateau-Cambrésis , in the east on Saint-Benin , in the south-east on Saint-Souplet and in the south-west on Busigny .

The Honnechy station is on the railway line from Busigny to Aulnoye-Aymeries .
