Briastre is a French municipality with 748 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Cambrai and the canton of Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015: canton of Solesmes ). The inhabitants are called Briastrois .

geography

Briastre is about 17 kilometers east of Cambrai . The river Selle flows through the community . Briastre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Solesmes in the north and east, Neuvilly in the south and south-east, Inchy in the south and Viesly in the west.
