Banteux is a commune in the French department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the canton of Le Cateau-Cambrésis (until 2015 canton Marcoing ) in the Arrondissement of Cambrai . It borders in the northwest on Villers-Plouich , in the northeast on Les Rues-des-Vignes , in the east on Bantouzelle , in the south on Honnecourt-sur-Escaut , in the southwest on Villers-Guislain and in the west on Gonnelieu . The Canal de Saint-Quentin is tangent to the eastthe municipality marker. The residents call themselves Banteusiens or Banteusiennes.
